OFC 2026: HYWICOM's 1.6T Testing Solutions Empower Ecosystem Partners

The annual Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC) kicked off in Los Angeles, USA, on March 17.

HYWICOM showcased its flagship FRAEO 16T2 1.6T network tester through joint demonstrations with multiple industry partners, including ColorChip, TriLight, Linktel, SONT, Credo, and CIG. Leveraging its mature 1.6T testing solution, HYWICOM enabled partners to fully demonstrate product performance, presenting leading optical communication testing capabilities to global industry professionals.

As a global “barometer” of the optical communications industry, OFC brings together leading enterprises and professionals worldwide, focusing on key topics such as next-generation transport networks and AI-driven interconnectivity. Among them, 1.6T high-speed transmission technology has become a major highlight of the event.

At this exhibition, HYWICOM worked closely with ecosystem partners through joint demonstrations, utilizing the outstanding performance of the FRAEO 16T2 high-speed network tester to provide strong support for partner product showcases.The system is capable of accurately presenting key performance metrics of customer products. This capability is backed by HYWICOM’s deep technical expertise and extensive industry validation, which has made it a preferred choice for many companies participating in joint demonstrations.

It is reported that HYWICOM successfully developed the 1.6T high-speed network tester (FRAEO 16T2) at the end of 2024. The product is one of ONLY THREE Ethernet traffic testers worldwide capable of supporting 1.6T testing, and from the early stages of development, it has completed comprehensive interoperability testing with nearly all 1.6T optical module vendors, covering various DSP chipsets and silicon photonics solutions.

Building on this foundation, HYWICOM took the lead globally in launching a 1.6T OSFP-RHS testing solution in October 2025. To date, the solution has undergone nearly six months of real-world validation and continuous iteration, achieving a fully verified, mature, and stable technical framework. It has already supported multiple optical module vendors in successfully completing sample validation for key North American customers.

At this year’s OFC, HYWICOM, together with its partners, jointly demonstrated this mature 1.6T RHS solution, fully showcasing the collaborative strength of the industry ecosystem.

During testing, HYWICOM leveraged its professional expertise to help industry partners resolve numerous interoperability and performance optimization challenges, removing barriers to the large-scale deployment of 1.6T technologies and continuously contributing to the advancement of industry standards.

The product’s key features are highly competitive, and it has already achieved stable shipments with broad recognition from industry customers.
